Tensions rise as Amelia arrives in Mitchell for a visit. Paul and Matthew argue over hurts they have carried since adolescence, while Margot takes offense when Sue points out an unpleasant aspect of Margot’s character. In the heat of anger, Sue reveals her deepest secret. Meanwhile, Ruth lashes out as she struggles to remember who her family members are.
The day’s schedule provides breathing room for everyone: Mrs. Delsey gives Sue and Amelia a detailed tour of First Community Church. The dog trainer returns and Zorro makes an impressive display of his protection training as Matthew and Margot watch. Paul’s pastoral duties fill his day. By dinner time, it seems that everyone has calmed down and is ready to make amends, until Paul makes a terrifying discovery.
